The story
The MP-50 was a scaled-down version of the Model P200 processor from Steinway Lyngdorf: where the P200 served a closed system, the MP-50 worked with loudspeakers of any brand.3 It decoded Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D, with balanced outputs for an 11.1 setup and four more channels for extra speakers or subwoofers.3
Its RoomPerfect calibration covered every speaker channel.1 It had eight HDMI inputs, an HDBaseT output that carried video, audio and network over one cable, and a built-in media player for AirPlay, Spotify, Roon and internet radio.3 AVForums wrote that it sounded the same as the later MP-40 and MP-60.2 Lyngdorf now lists the MP-50 among its discontinued products.4
