Why it is renowned

The Snakes collection is Ole Lynggaard's serpent jewellery in 18 karat gold and diamonds. He made his first serpent jewel after seeing snake designs in Cairo in the early 1960s, and unveiled the full collection in 2013.1

The story

On a visit to Cairo in the early 1960s the young goldsmith Ole Lynggaard discovered snake designs and made his first fine-jewellery serpent for his wife and muse, Karin.1 The idea of a full collection stayed with him for half a century, until the Snakes collection was unveiled in 2013, handcrafted in 18 karat gold and diamonds.1
