Why it is renowned

Jack & Jones is one of Europe's leading makers of menswear, with more than 1,000 stores in 38 countries and thousands of wholesale partners around the world.1 It is Bestseller's largest business unit.1 The label sponsors the American Formula One team Haas and the Danish esports team Astralis.2

The story

Troels Holch Povlsen founded Bestseller in Brande, Jutland, in 1975; the company added menswear in 1988 and launched Jack & Jones in 1990 as a denim label.2 The first Jack & Jones store opened in Trondheim, Norway, in 1991, and a second in Sweden the same year; Finland and Denmark followed a year later.2

Jeans are still the core of the range, which now also covers tailoring, sportswear, footwear and accessories.1 About 500 people work on design, buying, sales and marketing at the headquarters in Denmark.1 Since 2017 the brand has added Jack & Jones Plus, Jack & Jones Junior and JJXX.1
