Why it is renowned
Cherry Heering has been made since 1818 and is sold in more than 100 countries; the company is a purveyor to the Royal Danish Court and was formerly one to Queen Elizabeth II.1 The liqueur is a set ingredient in classic cocktails, among them the Singapore Sling and the Blood & Sand.1 The maker calls it the world's most awarded cherry liqueur.2
The story
The merchant Peter Frederik Suhm Heering began making the cherry liqueur in Copenhagen in 1818, and the house still makes it to the old family recipe.21 Long produced by the Peter F. Heering company in Denmark, the brand was bought by the Dutch group De Kuyper in 2017.1
