Why it is renowned
Palissade is counted among HAY's select works, and the MoMA Design Store in New York sells it.1 HAY counts it among its most recognisable outdoor series, and it has grown into the Cord and Cantilever lines.23
The story
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec drew the collection for HAY as a linear composition in steel, guided by symmetrical geometry.4 Ronan Bouroullec has said the aim was furniture that works in a city, on a terrace or against the wall of a pub, and that would also sit well in open country.5 The pieces come in powder-coated colours or hot-galvanised steel.4 The family runs from chairs, armchairs and stools to benches, a lounge sofa, a chaise longue and several tables.3
