Why it is renowned

Marie Claire in the United States gave the Hair Gain Extract its award for best treatment for thinning hair in its 2025 Hair Awards.1 In 2018, as Hårklinikken came to the United States, Vanity Fair reported that more than 70,000 people in Denmark had used the extract over more than 20 years.2 The house puts the number of clients who have used it at more than 100,000 over 30 years.3

The story

Lars Skjøth had a severe scalp condition as a teenager and, after years of drug-based treatment, began reading botanical medicine and scalp biology and mixing his own plant-based extract, first tested on friends, family and volunteers.3 The extract is drawn from burdock root, marigold, apple and sandalwood, with constituents of cow's milk, and is free of drugs, silicones and parabens.3 Each bottle is blended for one client after a consultation, holds four weeks of daily use, and is adjusted with every new bottle.32 Vanity Fair reported that the blend also takes account of the client's climate and local tap water.2
