Why it is renowned
Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe designed the watch in 1962 for an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, and it counts among her most important works.1 Her work is held by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Louvre, the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.1
The story
Torun, a Swedish silversmith, won a gold medal at the Milan Triennale and the Lunning Prize in 1960 and designed only for Georg Jensen from 1969.1 The Copenhagen house made her 1962 bangle its first wristwatch.1 It is still made in stainless steel, with a mirror dial, in 27 mm and 34 mm, some with a diamond bezel or a hidden heart on the dial.2
